It has been more than ten years since the United States has seen a new Civic hatchback. Fortunately, it looks like that streak is about to end. Honda recently issued a press release announcing that a new Civic hatchback will make its North American debut, just ahead of the New York International Auto Show at the end of the month.
We don't know much about the new arrival, and we won't until the end of the month. However, we know what it looks like and it is stunning. To say the new Civic hatchback is "aggressively styled" would be an understatement. Low-slung with long lines, the hatchback is accented by jutting features in the front and rear, and sleek valleys along the doors. Large intakes and led headlights give it an eye-catching mean-looking aesthetic.
As for the power plant, all we know is that the new hatchback will be set in motion by Honda Turbo engine technology. More information will be released at the end of the month. Until then we'll just have to wait.
Additional prototype details will be made available on Honda's YouTube channel on March 22 at 2:20 P.M. EST. All the latest Civic information can be found at http://hondanews.com/channels/civic.
