It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing you the latest news regarding what to expect from the 2014 Honda Accord. Well now we are excited to announce that its hybrid variant is one step closer to making its way to Honda of Salem as well!

That's right readers, production for the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has officially begun. Employees recently celebrated as assembly lines went into operation at the automaker's Marysville, Ohio facility, for its first hybrid model to ever be produced there. This was all made possible thanks to an $18.8 million investment that Honda put into the plant, along with the addition of 50 full-time employees.

Rob May, Plant Manager of the Marysville Auto Plant, explains the significance of this development, stating, "Production of this class-leading hybrid represents an important achievement by our associates as they create new value for Honda customers using advanced manufacturing skills and new, cutting-edge technologies."1

The Accord Hybrid will offer fuel economy on a whole new level, as it is already earning recognitions for being a segment leader amongst sedans. We certainly can't wait to see the performance generated by its hybrid system featuring Honda's Earth Dreams Technology. Its unveiling is just around the corner, with sales slated to begin later this year across the U.S.
