Recently, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. reported that their Honda division set a new record for January sales, increasing 7.7 percent on sales of 97,178 vehicles.
Honda continued to ride the momentum earned from three straight yearly sales records, as their truck segment established a new January record with 51,337 vehicles sold – a gain of 30.2 percent over January 2016. CR-V demolished the model's previous January best, jumping 52.5 percent on sales of 29,287 vehicles, while HR-V sales also showed significant growth, rising 36.2 percent on sales of 5,689 vehicles.
In a release, Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division, said, "Our conservative approach to growth was criticized when the industry was growing faster but it is clearly paying dividends now as industry sales are flattening. A steady cadence of products and disciplined sales tactics is the right approach for customers and dealers."
